NYPEN Negotiation Workshop

On Wednesday, July 19th, NYPEN and new sponsor Gerson Lehrman Group are pleased to host an evening workshop on negotiating strategies taught by Don Carlson, a frequent lecturer on negotiation and leadership skills and former Chief Knowledge Officer at Goldman Sachs (bio below).

The workshop will explore the 7 Elements of Principled Negotiation, as developed by the Program on Negotiation at Harvard. After a brief overview of the Principled Negotiation theories/concepts, the session will be devoted to a live-fire negotiation exercise in which participants will try their hand at principled negotiation.

Concepts to be covered include:
*Interest analysis
*BATNA
*Deployment of objective criteria
*Enhancing levels of self-awareness in negotiations

Please note that this event, like all NYPEN events, is by invitation only and open exclusively to professionals at private equity and venture capital funds.
