Session Overview:
Information technology:  It’s probably not the first issue that comes to mind when you’re looking at an acquisition, integration or at maximizing value in an existing portfolio company.  But, IT should definitely be on your short list.  At a time when IT departments spend 70% to 80% of their budgets just trying to keep existing systems running—and with firms as diverse as Hershey, Nike, Hewlett-Packard and Foxmeyer Drug all having experienced well-publicized ERP disasters in recent years—it stands to reason that IT can, all by itself, bleed your next deal and/or erode value in your portfolio companies.

How can you make sure IT becomes a friend, not a foe, at each step of the investment lifecycle—from diligence … to acquisition … to the first 100 days … to integration?  What are the exact Where?, When? and How? of taking out IT costs?  What’s the best IT model—“cloning,” “purchased services,” “new environment”?  And, how can IT be leveraged in and across deals?  After hearing this presentation, you’ll never look at IT the same way again.
