The New York Private Equity Network (NYPEN) and the Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) are pleased to invite you to attend a seminar on "What to look for in a Great CEO and the Future of Private Equity in the Financial Crisis". Presented By: Professor Steven N. Kaplan, University of Chicago Booth School of Business • First, Professor Kaplan will share his research on the traits that make a great Private Equity CEO. The CEO plays an outsized roll in creating value and driving returns. Yet PE firms often have difficulty with their management teams and many firms replace the CEOs at over half their portfolio companies. While hundreds of anecdotal books have been written on the CEO role, Professor Kaplan produced the first academically researched analysis on the subject. Based on a proprietary database of over 300 CEO interviews, Professor Kaplan has isolated the key traits that produce results. In this session, you will learn what traits to look for as you evaluate your CEOs and interview for the position. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
